EVERY school in the Hambleton district could soon recycling facilities.
The district council is urging all 63 schools in the area to sign up to a scheme which would see paper and can banks installed in their grounds.
In a joint venture with Richmondshire District Council, the authority has secured £35,000 in funding from waste management firm Yorwaste for recycling bins in schools.
On top of the environmental benefits, schools will also be able to earn money from the collection of tins and cans, with £20 per tonne being paid.
Thirty-five schools have joined the scheme. Others wanting to sign up can contact Jenny Lowes on (01609) 767305.
