PRIMARY school pupils have created a wall plaque for their school entrance, with help from a design student.
All 93 children from Croft Primary School, near Darlington, were involved in the project, assisted by Becky Griffin, who is studying fashion and design at the University of Northumbria.
Headteacher Brenda Higgins said: "This has been a wonderful project. The children enjoyed themselves immensely.
"We have all learned a lot about clay work and silk painting and we now have a magnificent wall plaque to grace our entrance hall."
Children in years three, four, five and six drew pictures of the village in different seasons.
The drawings were transferred on to hand-made tiles and painted, while younger pupils made a mosaic of the school badge as a centrepiece.
Becky, from Darlington, was also able to help ten other small schools in North Yorkshire, who created their own wall plaques.
This was the first project funded by Croft Primary School since it became a Beacon school in September last year.
