It was all downhill for Wearside Plumbing Supplies when members of Ravens Ski Racing Club turned up at the new showroom in Monkwearmouth, Sunderland.
Ravens Ski Racing Club were presented with a £500 cheque generously donated by WPS and Barry Sanderson of Fred Stoddart Plumbing and Heating.
Delighted Ravens Club chairman Rob Joyce said: "We are extremely grateful for the support the club has received over the past year from these two companies.
"The financial assistance enables the club to send our own coaches abroad to training or racing trips with the team, which is of considerable advantage to the athletes."
The club has also benefited from assistance from other businesses over the past year, including: Mul-T-Lock UK, Mowbray Park Hotel, Fitness 2000 and David Lawson at Crown Photography have all helped to strengthen the club.
This has been reflected in the results produced by members of the club which boasts some of the country's top racers as well as a large number of younger members from the area all starting to show a lot of promise due to the standard of coaching available at all levels at Silksworth.
An eight-strong team travel to Austria today to compete In the English and British Alpine Ski Championships where the club pins its hopes on 17-year-old Adam Lee to bring another National Title to the region.
l The Ravens meet every Wednesday (7pm) and cater for all levels of ability from around six-years-old.
