Langbaurgh Brass has landed a place in the National Brass Band Championship finals to be held this September in Torquay.
The group was was awarded first prize in the North of England Brass Band Championships Second Section, held in Darlington last week.
Musical Director Tim Oldroyd said: "We're delighted to receive a first prize with our first attempt at this level.
"It's almost unprecedented and is a testament to the talent, enthusiasm and dedication of all our members.
"We are really proud to be once again representing our area in the National Championships and are determined to bring some national silverware back to the region this year."
The band already has a full diary for the year with a number of concerts across the region, including Saltburn Bandstand and Whitby Spa.
All money raised will go towards the band's costs of competing in Torquay and helping with a revamp of North Skelton Village Hall, where the band is based.
