Frankland ran out easy winners in their table top clash with Newcastle West, when West turned up with ten men and in the course of the game had two sent off. Ian Gibson bagged a hat trick and there was a goal each for Phil McVay, Peter Jobling and Richie Huskinson. Asa Morris scored for the visitors.
Easington only had eight men to face when they played Stockton and they were merciless, smashing 13 unanswered golas past the opposition. Neil Robinson scored seven goals, with Keith James (2), Steve Smith, Allen Richardson, Keith Bowmaker and Chris Bell getting the others.
Langbaurgh stay second, putting last weeks disappointing Cup result out of their minds with an excellent 4-2 win at Durham and CLS and this was done despite only having ten men. Andy Robinson (2), Darren Hart and Dave Cheeseborough got the Cleveland teams goals. Andy Davies and Martin Blenkinsopp got the Durham goals. This was poor preparation for this weeks cup final with Easington.
In a hard-fought match at Belford House, Sunderland Saints were the solitary goal winners over Derwentside, which ended any title aspirations that they may have harboured. Andy Roper's first half strike secured all the points in a competitive match, played in poor conditions. Kevin Maddick came closest for the visitors hitting the post in the first half, whilst Paul Oley had the best second half chance for Saints, which was well saved.
After five straight defeats, Durham HQ got back to winning ways with a 3-1 win over Sedgefield, thanks to goals by Steve Rooney, Andy Stuart and veteran Ken Judd.
North East Christian Fellowship League
The bottom of the first table clash between Heworth Christian Fellowship and Bethshan Christian Fellowship ended all square 3-3 with Bethshan always ahead by one goal. Gary Harkness (2) and Nick Rowling for Heworth with Chris Thompson a pair and a goal for Mark Langdown.
Third from bottom Monkwearmouth Christians travelled to leaders Whitley Bay Churches looking for an upset but Bay held on to top spot with a 4-0 win. Paul Worsdale scored two, Steven Smith and Russell Brooks got one each.
Saint Peter's Low Fell consolidated their second place with a win at Whitley Bay Baptist Church. David Hope scored for Whitley Bay with Sammy Charlton scoring a pair for Saints. Second half saw Richard Coxon, Neil McCarten and David Donaldson gave Saint Peter's a 5-1 win.
Lanchester Chapel moved into third place with a win at Middlesbrough Baptist's. It was 2-2 at half time, Andy Mullen and John Rhodes for Boro with Jamie Ollivere scoring twice. Andrew Knighton and Chris Petts making the final score 5-2.
A midtable clash with Bethany Christian Centre and Saint Aidan's Chapel, Easington saw Bethany come out winners 1-0 with Gavin Johnston scoring the only goal. Emmanuel Yarm's Jon Morley put them ahead before they missed a penalty against Westgate Road Baptist's Church whose David Fowler equalised before half time. With 15 minutes left in the match Fowler grabbed the winner for Westgate Road.
