Last week the school's Under-15s and Under-16s both won their respective County Rugby Plates.
The Under-15s played Emanuel College from Gateshead at Haughton-le-Spring Rugby Club and it was a very close game played in poor conditions.
Longfield started off well and raced into a 10-0 lead before Emanuel struck back, but then Longfield scored again to lead 15-7 at half time.
In the second half Emanuel were an top, scoring two tries to take the score to 17-15 to Emanuel, however, in the very last minute of the game Longfield scored the final try to clinch the victory 20-17.
The Under-16s also faced Emanuel College from Gateshead at Houghton-le-Spring Rugby Club. This game was end to end with both teams scoring tries.
In the second half Longfield raced into a 19-10 lead which seemed enough. However, Emanuel came back again forcing Longfield to fight all the way to an eventual 24-20 victory.
Both Plates were awarded in the Clubhouse afterwards, much to the delight of the Longfield staff, players and parents.
