Kenneth Atkinson of Tow Law New Market became the League Singles Champion after he beat John Smythe of Sunniside Comedian in the final of the competition held at the Comedian.
Quarter final results: John Smythe (Comedian) beat Bob Peacock (Comedian); Stephen Boughey (Cattle Mart) lost to Micky Seaton (New Market A); Peter Moore (Comedian) lost to John Parkin (New Market A); Kenneth Atkinson (New Market A) beat Darren Yeoman (New Market A).
Semi-final results: Smythe beat Seaton; Parkin lost to Atkinson.
l The League Trebles competition will be held at Esh McKennas on Monday, April 15 with the Presentation Evening at Tow Law New Market on Monday, April 22.

Ladies League
Leaders, Crook Golden Fleece stretched their lead at the top to 19 points after they beat the visiting third placed Crook Coach and Horses by three points. This defeat caused the Coach to be moved down to fourth spot as Crook Royal Sun jumped up to second place, two points ahead of the Mill House.
Irene Clark, the league secretary, was delighted to hear the magic "180" cry for the Coach and Horses. The other leading individual scorers were Julie Heslop 140 and Sanra Lomax 138 for the Golden Fleece, Carol Haygarth 138 for the Royal Sun and Joan Hall 129 for the Three Blue Bells.

Willington League
Hunwick Joiners Arms ended the championship hopes of their hosts at Willington Black Horse Tavern when they came through to strengthen their second place with a four point victory. The Tavern made a good start when Donald Young and Joe Davies put them two up in the first singles. However from that point the Joiners took over and won the remaining singles through Ian Richardson, John Mason, Paul Reidy and Stuart Gill. The Joiners continued their good run when Stuart Gill with Ian Richardson and Paul Reidy with John Mason took the first two doubles points. Kevin Bake and Donald Young took the final doubles for the home side. The Joiners then took the team game but Joe Davies of the Black Horse Tavern beat Kenny peers in the captain's game.
The league programme should have been completed but postponed matches mean that the title destination is still in doubt. The Prospect Club are 15 points ahead of the Joiners Arms, who are eight ahead of the Victoria Club. However the Victoria have two matches still to play, leaving it possible for them to repeat last season's Championship win if they win their two outstanding games by maximums.

Crook Ladies League
Crook Coach and Horses completed the league and cup double when they won their Knock-out Cup semi-final and final in style.
In the semi-final they visited Tow Law Black Horse and only dropped two points as they coasted through to the final. The other semi-final was a nail-biting affair when the Victoria Club entertained Crook Travellers Rest. The Club moved 4-2 ahead after the singles but then the Travellers fought back to take two of the three doubles and leave the result resting on the team game, which was worth two points. The Travellers got down to needing tops when the Victoria needed 97. However Jackie Quarmby stepped up to the oche and hit treble 19 and double tops to clinch victory for the Victoria.
In the final Jackie Quarmby set the Victoria away to a winning start by taking the first singles. However the league champions then took over and never dropped another point as they completed the double.
The leading individual scorers were Carol Newton 144 and Val Readman 132 for the Victoria, Val Fets 140 for Tow Law Black Horse and Gail Abbott, who won the Individual Player of the Year trophy, 140 for the Coach and Horses.
Crook League
Belle Vue are champions after beating Sunnydene and Market are assured of runners up spot. Mill House need just a single point from their final match to be certain of taking the division two title with Royal George likely to finish second.
Old Horseshoe and RAFA are level on points in the first division dominoes section with one game remaining whilst in division two just three points separate Mill House and second side Coach and Horses.
The team dominoes knockout is to be held on Monday, March 25 at Royal Sun. Players drawn in the preliminary round are asked to report for a 7.30 start.

Blue Bell B have a handsome lead at the top but the battle for second spot is close. Hare and Hounds currently occupy second place on 130 points, Mill Race have 129 and Pack Horse 127.
