Darlington policemen Karl Lowe and Dave Barker are in training for next month's London Marathon to raise money for charity.
PC Lowe, beat officer for Hurworth, Neasham and Middleton St George, is hoping to raise £1,500 for newborn and premature baby charity Bliss.
PC Barker, an officer at the Cockerton station, will run for Anaphylaxis, a charity which raises awareness and funds for research into anaphylactic shock brought on by allergic reaction.
PC Lowe said: "Neither of us has done this before, and the nearest I have got is taking part in the Darlington 10km fun run. We have both been training hard for this, though, and I go out jogging every night and visit the gym.
Anyone wanting to sponsor PC Lowe should contact 0775 995 7019 and leave a message with details of their pledge.
