ROCK lovers Paul Scott and Adam Sayers have turned their love of music into a business.

Castlegate Quay, in Stockton, no longer rocks once a year with performers at the Riverside Festival, but daily now thanks to recording studio Sanity Multi-Media.

Adam, from Billingham, and Paul, from Thornaby, both 30, have plenty of experience in the notoriously difficult music industry.

They have worked as recording engineers, lecturers and are both professional musicians and songwriters.

Now they create packages for fledgling recording artists and bands adaptable to individual needs. In effect a "one stop shop" facility has been created. The studio is booked on an hourly or daily rate and Sanity Multi-Media has also been known to open for business throughout the night, putting truth in the meaning "responding to customer needs".

The studio has already generated interest from local bands, television and film production companies, all of which are using its equipment for video production.

Corporate organisations have also turned to their expertise to enhance brand awareness and profile through video and TV work.

Sanity Multi-Media has been helped on the road to success by Stockton Business Venture and Business Link Tees Valley.

While Adam and Paul have invested significant sums of their own money into the project, but were also amazed by the level of funding and support they received.

Paul said: "It was ten years ago that we first had the idea of a recording studio in Stockton, but at that time there didn't seem to be anyone to ask for help.

"Both Adam and I have been amazed at the support available today and are very grateful for the advice we have received and continue to receive from organisations like Business Link and Stockton Business Venture."
