A couple remained in hospital with serious injuries today after a £40,000 sports car they had taken for a test drive was involved in an horrific crash.
Lynn Conder was rushed to hospital by the Yorkshire Air Ambulance with a suspected broken back and broken neck following the head-on collision on the A658 near Knaresborough, North Yorkshire.
Her husband, Simon Conder, who was driving the orange TVR Tuscan, is still in a critical condition in Harrogate District Hospital.
The four-car pile-up occurred just ten minutes after the couple had left the Horseless Carriages showroom in Harrogate and started heading towards the A1.
The TVR is thought to have lost control before smashing into a Peugeot 306. A Vauxhall Cavalier and Vauxhall Corsa were also struck by the TVR as it spun across the road. Relatives are understood to be comforting the couple's two daughters, who are aged 11 and 15, a police spokesman said.
Pauline Marsden, 21, who was travelling in the Peugeot, is recovering in Harrogate District Hospital today.
Nobody from either the Cavalier or the Corsa was injured in the accident, which happened at about 4pm on Saturday.
