A POPULAR mixed voice choir will be holding two concerts next month.
The Carol Andrew Singers, from Darlington, will perform the first of the shows at St Cuthbert's Church, in Billingham, on Good Friday, at 7.30pm.
The second concert, will be held in St Mary's Church, Richmond, North Yorkshire, and takes place on Saturday, April 13, also beginning at 7.30pm. They will feature solos from soprano Mary Anderson, bass Phillip Glithro and organist Greg Smith. Tickets to the Richmond concert cost £5 and are available at the door.
SHORT COURSES: Queen Elizabeth Sixth Form College, in Darlington, is offering a variety of short courses for adults and children after Easter. Courses for adults include computing, accounting and website design, while for children there will be football and computing after school clubs. Most classes start the week beginning April 8. SLIMMING CLASS: A Darlington mother has started a slimming class after her own success with Slimming World. Sally Bell's class will start at Mowden Rugby Club on Thursday, April 4 from 7pm. For details call (01325) 259539.
GYM CLUB: Members of the Darlington Gymnastics Club will stage a demonstration at Morrisons at Morton Park, on Saturday, between 11am and 2pm. The show will raise funds for the club.
BLOOD DONORS: People are invited to give blood next Tuesday at St Cuthbert's Church centre, in Darlington market place, between 2pm and 7pm.
ROAD WORKS: Restrictions will be in place in the Hollyhurst Road area of Darlington while road works are carried out. The work is being undertaken by Northern Electric and is expected to last a few weeks.
NEW COURSE: A course called Wars and Revolutions in mid-19th Century Europe will be run by the Darlington Workers' Educational Association, starting on Wednesday, April 10, from 10am to noon. For details call (01325) 357801.
SALES SUCCESS: Olive Benson, of Darlington, who has worked at the Holland and Barrett store for three years, has won through to the final of the company's Sales Associate of the Year. The winner of the national competition will be announced on April 24 at the final in Birmingham.
COFFEE MORNING: The Salvation Army, in Northgate, Darlington, is holding a mini-market and coffee morning on Saturday, April 20 from 10am to noon.
