A PENSIONER'S life savings were stolen after an intruder posed as a water board official to get into his home.
The 84-year-old was robbed of his wallet containing just under £1,000 after a man knocked at his door in St Hilda's, Middlesbrough, and asked if he could "check the taps".
The man is described as between 25 and 35, 5ft 7in tall, with short dark hair and a black left eye.
Anyone who recognises the man or who has any information about the theft is asked to contact Detective Constable Delia Martin, of Middlesbrough Police, on (01642) 326326.
