DETECTIVES on a murder hunt were questioning three people last night after a man was found stabbed to deathin a street.
Police found the victim apparently lying dead in the street in Felling, near Gateshead, at about 8pm on Tuesday, after responding to reports of a fight.
The unidentified man was later pronounced dead at Queen Elizabeth Hospital, in Gateshead.
Detective Superintendent Ian Sharp, who is heading the investigation, said that through the night police hunting for clues had scoured the area around Beech Street, where the man was found.
Three people were in custody helping police with their inquiries last night after being arrested earlier in the day.
