A TEENAGER accused of terrorising an estate could become the first youth in a North-East town to be controlled by an anti-social behaviour order.
Middlesbrough Council applied for an order at Teesside Magistrates' Court yesterday, to impose severe restrictions on the 17-year-old, who cannot be named.
The council wants the restrictions to include a ban on him entering an estate in Middlesbrough, riding his motorbike along the pavement and congregating in a group of more than three people. The case was adjourned until April 16 when the youth is expected to enter a plea.
Scrap blaze: A fire at a scrap metal yard in Darlington is believed to have been started by an electrical fault.The blaze destroyed a third of the metal at Hanratty's scrapyard, in Wooler Street, off Northgate, Darlington on Tuesday night.
Teenager released: A 19-year-old who was arrested in connection with a serious sexual assault on a woman in Scarborough, North Yorkshire, has been released without charge. Police are continuing inquiries into the attack, in the Falsgrave area last Wednesday.

Reunion date: A reunion of the 2nd Battalion of the Green Howards is being held at the Blackwell Grange Hotel, Darlington, on Saturday, April 6. The event is being held to mark the anniversary of the battalion being re-formed in April 1952.

Biker transferred: A 39-year-old biker who was seriously injured in an accident on Tuesday night, has been transferred from Darlington Memorial Hospital to Middlesbrough General Hospital. The man, who has not been named, collided with a Ford Mondeo car at the junction of Shetland Drive and Whinbush Way, Darlington. He was said to be poorly but stable.
