CONCERN is growing for the wellbeing of a middle-aged man who has been missing for two days.
Edward Donnelly, 52, of Fynway, Sacriston, was last seen by the sister he lives with at 10am on Monday.
He was also seen in Plawsworth Road, Sacriston, at lunchtime the same and later next to the A167 at Plawsworth.
Police said it was totally out of character for Mr Donnelly to stay away from home and urged him to contact his family or the police.
Mr Donnelly is 5ft 8in, slim, of pale complexion and has brown eyes and shoulder-length hair with side parting.
He was wearing a waxed jacket, black jeans and trainers.
Anyone who sees him is asked to ring Chester-le-Street police on 0191-388 4311.
PC Glen Cornforth said: "It's totally out of character for Mr Donnelly to stay away from home and his family are very concerned for his well-being. We would urge him to contact them or us so they can be assured he is safe.'
