ATHLETICS: Anyone who are making the trip to the London Marathon next month are invited to travel on the bus Shildon Running and Athletics Club have arranged.
A coach, which will pick up in various points in the North-East, will leave late afternoon on Friday, April 13 for two nights in a hotel in Finchley, transport to the London Marathon Exhibition on the Saturday morning for registration and transport to the start in Greenwich Park on Sunday morning.
The coach returns after the race late Sunday afternoon, anyone interested should call Jeff Rippon on (0191) 4134986.
FOOTBALL: The Durham County under-18 junior side will meet Birmingham in the final of the FA County Youth Cup at Walsall's Bescot Stadium on Saturday, April 27 (3pm). Birmingham already knew they would have the advantage of a home draw in the final when they beat Nottinghamshire 3-0 in the semi finals on March 9.
Durham beat Lancashire 2-1 after extra-time in the other semi-final.
DARTS: The Lacegold Navy Club Men's Darts starts on April 5, there is currently one vacancy.
SIX-A-SIDE FOOTBALL: For the second year running Durham Johnston School's Under-13 Girls represented Newcastle United at the Northern Area Final of the Adidas Community Cup and this time the team did much better.
There were 12 teams competing and Durham played Leeds United (2-2), York (4-1), Middlesbrough (1-1) and Halifax Town (2-0).
These results meant they qualified for the sem-final where they beat Darlington 4-0 and then beat Huddersfield 2-1 in the final so became Northern Area winners and now go to Barnsley on in April for the Northern Regional finals.
