Kevin Keegan's international career finished in controversy as a player and then as coach of England.
Sir Alf Ramsey picked Keegan for his full international debut in a 1-0 victory over Wales in November 1972. Four years later Keegan captained England for the first time under Don Revie. His England career ended on 63 caps after a 27-minute appearance against Spain in 1982 - his only experience in the World Cup finals. Keegan felt it was a premature decision by coach Bobby Robson to jettison him and publicly criticised the new England chief. In 1999 he was named England coach but following the 1-0 defeat by Germany in the World Cup qualifier at Wembley he quit just minutes after the final whistle.
