The top of the league is getting tighter as Priory gained revenge over Poverine to run out victors by give goals to two.
Poverine led 2-0 at one stage but Priory hit them with three goals in four minutes just before the interval. Priory, full of confidence, did not let up to reward two further second half goals. For Priory Anthony Roberts claimed a hat tri k and peter Boldison and Nazakat Akram one each.
Cleveland Inn nearly slipped up away to Station Hotel who have yet to pick up a league point. The result of 3-2 in Cleveland's favour but two slices of luck went their way. Number one when Station claimed that the ball had crossed the line. Before the keeper scooped it out and then an indirect free kick. The ball flew straight into the net. Ray Woodhouse bogged a pair and John Morrison one for Cleveland inn and for Station Martin Marshall and Peter Day.
Iceland kept ion touch with a 2-0 victory over Boosbeck St Aidans. Iceland scoring twice through Mike Martin and Steve Owens then had to defence in depth to keep out Boosbeck.
Big W could not stem the flow of D and E Locksmiths going down 13-2. Andrew Harland and Jonathan Hill each scored four. Richard Bullen and Lee Freer two each and Steve Gordon one for D and E while Andrew Evans and Aaron Thompson for Big W.
Haverton Hill and Stockton Double Glazing missed so many chances to win this game that a 0-0 scoreline seemed destined until Karl Fishburn did the unthinkable and scored to give Haverton Hill victory.
Hathaway Auckland and District League
DSRM had a fine first half at Cockfield in the League Cup and turned around two-up through Tom Kelly and David Sweeton. Cockfield came back strongly and Stephen Rogers and Peter Fallon brought them level. DSRM would not be denied and Anthony Gabriel added a third goal to see them into the semis.
Shildon Railway played poorly during a goalless first half against Quinns Inn in the Subsidiary Cup. The Railway improved in the second period and goals from Stuart Blackett (2) and Doug Grant saw them home when Quinns tired late on.
Coxhoe reached their fourth semi final with a 4-1 victory over Brandon in the Darlington Charity Cup. A goal on the half hour gave Coxhoe a 1-0 half time advantage. Paul Webster equalised quarter of an hour from time but they were then hit with a late blitz by Coxhoe who added further goals through Kevin Bush, John Parnaby and Philip Lowson.
Cleveland Bridge made it through to the semis with a 5-0 victory over GSOB. Wayne Buckley grabbed two and the rest came from Dwayne Beagle, Jamie Smith and Phil Sheridan
