MORE than 21,000 questionnaires are being sent to Wear Valley homes, in the most comprehensive study of housing in the district.
Wear Valley District Council is to undertake its first study of housing needs, to help the council provide affordable housing in the area.
Surveys will be posted to every house in Weardale and a selection of homes elsewhere. People are asked to return the forms by April 30.
The information should also help the council secure funds from the Government to improve existing housing.
Graham Pilkington, from the council, said: "The survey provides people with an opportunity to make a difference, as the information will help shape the future of housing in Wear Valley."
