VISITORS to the Angel of the North in Gateshead this weekend will get the chance to see a range of souvenirs reflecting the popularity of two of the region's most instantly recognisable landmarks.
A mobile information centre will be at the base of the landmark tomorrow and Monday, to give visitors the latest information on the transformation of east Gateshead.
The centre will also allow souvenir hunters the chance to choose from a range of official merchandise, which has been designed and created exclusively for Gateshead Borough Council.
The gifts have been designed to reflect the popularity of the UK's largest sculpture, one which is seen by more than 33 million people a year, as well as the Gateshead Millennium Bridge, which has created worldwide interest since its arrival on Gateshead Quays.
The gift range includes sweatshirts, T-shirts, mugs, mouse-mats and watches.
Gateshead council hopes the official range of gifts will help residents and visitors to avoid purchasing poor quality souvenirs. The mobile information centre will be open from 9.30am-5pm tomorrow and from 9am-5pm on Monday.
