Middlesbrough 1 : Tottenham 1 - Franck Queudrue scored his second goal for Middlesbrough to deny Tottenham an historic North-East treble at the Riverside Stadium.
The French defender, on loan from Lens until the end of the season with a view to a permanent deal, curled home a 69th minute free-kick after Anthony Gardner had been harshly penalised for a foul on Alen Boksic.
Spurs, who had already won at Newcastle and Sunderland this season, had gone ahead in the 33rd minute through striker Steffen Iversen.
But Boro should have been awarded a penalty early in the second half after England defender Ledley King clearly handled in a challenge with Boksic.
