A NORTHERN Echo reader is hoping her lucky streak will lead to a win during her VIP day at the races.
Amanda Price, 26, from Spennymoor, is the winner of The Northern Echo's competition to enjoy a special day out at the Grand National next Saturday.
The legal secretary was delighted to win the competition, run in conjunction with The National Lottery, which appeared in our Racing North supplement. Next weekend, Miss Price and her mother, Lesley, will enjoy an all-expenses paid trip to Aintree in Liverpool to watch the race.
The day will include first- class travel, a champagne reception, lunch and a top position to watch the race.
Miss Price said: "I always have a flutter on the Grand National but have never been to the race before. I couldn't believe it when I got the phone call saying I had won.
"I remembered entering the competition but never imagined I would win. I am really excited about the prize.
"It's not every day you get to do something like that. Me and my mum are really looking forward to it."
The competition was run to mark the launch of a new Grand National scratch card from The National Lottery Instants.
