PEOPLE across the North-East will have a chance to pay their respects in books of remembrance from tomorrow.
Darlington Borough Council will open its book at the town hall and the Friends of the Bowes Museum's book will open on Thursday at the Barnard Castle museum.
Gibside, the ancestral home of the Bowes-Lyon family, near Rowlands Gill, Gateshead, will offer mourners the chance to add their condolences.
A book will be opened at the Stone Cross Civic Centre, in Northallerton, by Hambleton District Council tomorrow.
A book will also be opened at Richmondshire District Council's offices at Swale House, Richmond, tomorrow. Books are likely to be provided at the authority's community offices in Leyburn and Hawes.
Books of Remembrance will be open from tomorrow at The Northern Echo offices in Darlington, Bishop Auckland, Durham and Northallerton, and on our website thisisthenortheast.co.uk. Tributes in the books will also be printed in The Northern Echo.
On Teesside, books of condolence are to be opened at town halls in Middlesbrough and Redcar and Cleveland.
People wishing to make charitable donations in memory of the Queen Mother are encouraged to give to the Queen Elizabeth's Charitable Trust. Donations may be made across the counter at high street banks
