IMPROVEMENTS to street lighting in several communities in the Hambleton district have been given the go-ahead by councillors.
The three schemes, costing a total of £6,000, will see improvements installed in Easingwold, Danby Wiske and Aiskew during the next 12 months.
Projects allocated cash last year - for Bedale, Kirkby Fleetham, Romanby and Tollerton - will also be completed this year.
In Easingwold, £45,000 has been allocated to replace and improve the lighting in the Leasmires Avenue and Crabmill Lane area.
About £13,000 will be spent in Danby Wiske to improve the lighting in the centre of the village, to complement work carried out in the north and south sections of the village last year.
In Aiskew the footpath between Hazel Court and Holly Road will be illuminated
