A Disability Awareness day is to be held in Stanhope. The event, organised by Wear Valley Disability Access Forum, will offer advice for people with disabilities and their carers.

MEDIEVAL FAIR: A disco at which this year's Sedgefield Medieval Fair queen will be chosen, is planned for Saturday, May 4, in the village's Ceddesfeld Hall, from 7pm to 9pm. The event is open to 11-year-olds and under. Entry will cost £1.

CRAFT SHOW: Entrants are invited for the handcraft exhibition at Great Aycliffe Show, which takes place on June 22 and 23. There are 80 classes to enter, including home-baked scones, embroidery, art and photography.
