RECYCLING banks in a market town are on the move.
Four of the bins in Northallerton used to collect paper, textiles and books are being relocated.
Pressure of space means Hambleton District Council, which runs the recycling service, needs to move them from the B&Q car park.
The paper facility will be re-housed at Tesco in the town centre, along with banks taking glass.
Environmental health spokesman,Councillor Arthur Barker, said: "Reducing this site is very disappointing but we hope people will be able to take their books, paper and textiles to other banks in the town.
"The landlords felt they could no longer devote the space to recycling so we are now on the lookout for alternative locations," said the councillor.
The plastic recycling bank is to stay at the B&Q site, along with the can bank, glass bank and two of the paper banks.
Recycling banks for paper, glass, cans and tins, textiles and books are still available at the Applegarth car park and Somerfield car park.
