THE Forestry Commission has organised a two-day safari in a North-East forest.
Kielder Forest, in Northumberland, is the location for the 4x4 event on Saturday and Sunday.
Participants will use 550 miles of logging trails that are normally off-limits to the public.
Phil Mayland, of the Forestry Commission, said: "We have previously staged one-day safaris, which have proved incredibly popular.
"This weekend event will allow us to go much deeper into the forest's 155,000 acres. We will be pulling over at regular intervals to spot wildlife and enjoy the breathtaking scenery.
"Drivers will also be able to test their off-road skills in designated rough terrain areas."
The cost is £20 per vehicle each day. Bookings can be made on (01434) 250209.
The Forestry Commission has negotiated a special rate with Kielder youth hostel, offering accommodation, barbecue and driving for £60.
