SUNNIE, a four-year-old cross breed dog, is in need of a new home.
The dog needs to find a permanent home after its owner could not cope with looking after it.
The National Animal Sanctuary Support League, in Darlington, has placed Sunnie in a foster home, but is looking for someone to adopt the pet.
Pauline Wilson, from the charity, said: "Sunnie gets on well with children and other dogs. He is very affectionate and would make a great family pet. He also travels well in cars.
"Sunnie's owner could not cope with him anymore after a hospitalisation, so he is having to be rehoused."
Sunnie has been neutered and vaccinated.
Anyone who would like to offer Sunnie a home or find out more about the work of the National Animal Sanctuary Support League, can call (01325) 321855.
