MORE nominations for the Mayor of Darlington's community awards are being invited.
Previously known as the Citizen of the Year awards, the name and categories have been changed to encourage more people to nominate someone who has made a difference to others in their community.
The awards are split into three categories: positive young person of the year, community group of the year and citizen of the year.
Nominations for the positive young person award have closed, but nominations can still be made for citizen of the year.
The judging panel will meet on May 1 to discuss the nominations, and award presentations will be made on May 8.
The overall winner will receive a trophy and two charity cheques for £100 from the sponsors, the Mayor's Charity Fund and The Northern Echo.
