Concerned residents of an area in Billingham are holding a public meeting tomorrow to discuss drug issues and community policing.
The Low Grange Residents' Association is holding the meeting to discuss problems with drugs in the area and concerns with the council's letting policy for drug addicts. The meeting starts at 7pm in Low Grange Community Centre, Low Grange Avenue, Billingham.
Vandals appeal: Police have renewed an appeal for help to track down vandals who have plagued a Teesside pensioner's caravan. The caravan, parked outside Joyce McGurk's home in Bedale Avenue, Billingham, has been targeted six times in as many months. Anyone with information is urged to contact Cleveland Police on (01642) 302226.
VOLUNTEERS CALL: The Cleveland branch of the World Wildlife Fund is looking for new volunteers. Anyone interested in joining is asked call Katy on (01845) 525910 or attend the group's next meeting, on Tuesday, at 7.45pm at the Ladle, Ladgate Lane, Middlesbrough.
MONEY RAISED: Students on a Btec diploma course in Nursery Nurse and Early Years at Redcar and Cleveland College have donated £145.77 to a special school for autistic children. The Beverley School, in Middlesbrough, is hoping to raise £30,000 for a new playground.
CASH FOR CAMERAS: Saltburn, Marske and New Marske Parish Council has agreed to contribute £1,500 towards the running costs of the closed-circuit television cameras in Saltburn town centre and have promised a further £1,500 once the system in Marske town centre is up and running.
SPONSORED ABSEIL: Hartlepool and District Hospice will hold a sponsored abseil from the Marks and Spencer store, in Hartlepool, on Saturday, June 29. A £10 registration fee, which can be included in sponsorship, is required to book places for the day. Training will be given. To register, call Lynne on (01429) 288252.
ANGEL VOICES: The New Life Singers, a group drawn from Teesside churches, will perform the musical Angel Voices, by Roger Jones, in Corporation Road Baptist Church, in Darlington, on Thursday, April 11, from 7.30pm.
