A WOMAN is appealing for members of the public to donate old cards so they can be recycled and sold to raise funds for her residential home.
Jackie Crozier, 60, has lived at the Teesside Cheshire Home at Marske, east Cleveland, for 18 years, and her main activity is recycling a variety of cards donated to the home and creating new cards which are sold to raise money.
She spends her time sorting through the bundles of cards that are donated to her and, with the help of other residents, cuts them out and creates new cards.
The cards are sold at craft fairs and other events, as well as at the home, and raise money to keep the home going.
But now she says she is running out of cards and is asking people to help by donating Christmas cards, birthday cards and Easter cards as well as any bits of lace and ribbon which may otherwise be thrown out.
Donations can be sent to Jackie Crozier at Teesside Cheshire Home, Redcar Road, Marske-by-the-Sea, TS11 6AA
