Cup Win: The Fifa World Cup will be accompanied on its helicopter flight from Leeds to Newcastle by 18-year-old Karen Smith, from Stanley, who won the prize in a Sainsbury's competition.
Accordion Music: A dance accompanied by the Dick Black Accordion Band is being held by the Derwentside Accordion Club at 7.30pm next Friday in the Castleside Working Men's Club.
Teddy Bears' Picnic: Teddy bears and their young companions will travel free on the Tanfield Railway between 11am and 5pm on Sunday, April 14.
Post haste: Elements and the Live Theatre Company are presenting The Last Post at 7pm on Thursday and Friday, next week, with a Friday matinee performance at 1.30pm in the Stanley Civic Hall. Tickets cost £7.
Donor session: Blood can be donated from 3pm to 7pm on Tuesday, in Consett Methodist Church, in Station Road.
Celebrity Concert: The Derwentside Singers and Graeme Danby are appearing at 7pm on Saturday, April 13, in the Empire Theatre at Consett. Tickets are £4.
Folk Night: James Cannon and Rick Booth are playing to the members of the Beamish Mary Folk Club, in No Place, at 8.30pm on Wednesday, April 10. Tickets cost £2.
Brass and Voice: The Annual Brass and Voices Concert of the Ever Ready Band and the Newcastle Male Choir will be held at 7.15 on Saturday and Sunday, April 13 and 14, in the Stanley Civic Hall. Tickets are £5 with £4 concessions.
