Free-scoring Ian Clark is enjoying his best season in front of goal but he wants it to get even better - starting at Rochdale tomorrow.
The Darlington utility man has notched 12 goals this season, easily surpassing his previous best of seven, gained during 1997/98 while playing for Hartlepool.
But now that he's achieved his target of reaching double figures, with two of this season's goals coming while with Pool at the started the season, Clark wants more.
He's notched three goals in the last two matches, a brace coming in the 5-0 trouncing of Halifax on Monday, and speaking about the goal at Hull, which was his first goal in six matches, he said: "It had been a while since I scored, it seemed to take ages to hit the back of the net but it was a nice feeling when it went in.
"I had a chance like that against Swansea but as soon as I hit this one I just knew it was going in.
"I should've scored late on. Mark Sheeran didn't brilliant to hold the ball up and play the ball in to me but it fell on my weaker foot but I still should've scored.
"I've been playing here, there and everywhere but that's my tenth now for the season at Darlington so I'd like to build on that and get a few more before the end of the season.
"It's the first time I've got ten goals in seven years so to do that and get a win at Hull is not bad."
Trialists Jonathan Mann of Newcastle, York's Scott Emerson (both strikers), Liam Smith of Middlesbrough (left-back) and Chester-le-Street's Steven Leadbitter (midfielder) all played in the reserves' 1-0 win over Grimsby on Wednesday but none were particularly impressive
