A HIGH-TECH recording studios has been opened in Teesside.
Sanity Multimedia, at Castlegate Quay, Stockton, has opened refurbished recording studios, putting the town at the forefront of music technology.
The studios, developed as part of Sanity's newly established multimedia business operation, offer musicians access to the region's first fibre-optic digital mixing system and the only Dolby Digital-equipped studio in the North-East.
Sanity offers a range of facilities, including rehearsal rooms, video production, management packages, CD duplication and internet sites.
Paul Scott and Adam Sayers, who were formerly in a band named Sweet Sanity in the 1990s, run the company, which aims to offer the full production package to bands and artists.
Mr Scott said: "With the range of facilities we have, we are geared up for all musicians - from a young band's first rehearsal to a full surround sound commercial DVD release and all markets in between."
They hope to expand into the commercial sector by offering voice-overs, radio jingles and computer game sound design.
The business employs a full time recording engineer, Jonathan Burrows, who is based at the Castlegate Quay studios and, as the business grows, Paul and Adam plan to take on more staff.
In setting up Sanity Multimedia, Adam and Paul contacted Business Link's Tees Valley offices for advice. More information about Business Link and the services on offer to all businesses is available by calling (01642) 806666.
