BONNIE the Rottweiler has bounced back from hard times and is looking for a good home.
The three-year-old bitch was in poor condition when she was found by RSPCA officers in Bishop Auckland.
But now she is ready to move to a new home after being nursed back to health.
RSPCA inspector Gavin Butterfield said he was keen to find Bonny an owner who will show her love and kindness.
He said: "She is now just about double the weight from when we found her. She has been very friendly towards staff at the kennels, although she is quite a nervous dog.
"We are looking for a special person with experience of caring for big dogs. Someone who can give her kindness, patience and a lot of time."
A spokesman at the kennels where Bonnie has been staying said the dog would make a good pet.
He said: "She is not aggressive with other dogs. She only wants to play. She has a real love for life, but is not used to a house situation and may need house training in the beginning."
Anyone who would like to give Bonnie a home should contact Margaret Chance on 07970 600631.
