The death of a man whose body was found by the side of a busy road is not being treated as suspicious, police today.
A postal worker made the grim discovery just before 5am this morning near the New Park roundabout, on Skipton Road, Harrogate, North Yorkshire.
The man, thought to be local and in his 30s, was found with facial injuries and was pronounced dead on arrival at Harrogate District Hospital.
A post-mortem examination could not determine the cause of death, but a police spokesman said the injuries "were not consistent with an assault."
Several close family members had not been informed of the man's death last night, but he is expected to be named today.
