A TEAM of students from a Teesside school have been picked to compete in the final of a national chemistry contest.
Four pupils from Teesside High School, in Eaglescliffe, have reached the final of the Royal Society of Chemistry's national schools' competition - named Top of the Bench - which takes place in the London's Science Museum, next Saturday.
Laura Anderson, Irene Anderson, Alison Butler and Laura Bury will compete against 28 other teams from around the UK and Ireland, including a team from the British School in Brussels.
The competition, which is an annual event for 13 to 16- year-olds, allows competitors to demonstrate their chemical skills and knowledge in a series of events.
Colin Osborne, education manager for schools and colleges at the Royal Society of Chemistry, said: "The final of the competition is demanding yet fun, and the finalists rise to the occasion and show the quality of talented young scientists that we have in our schools.
