A NORTH-EAST museum will host an exhibition of Meccano later this month.
The displays at the History of Meccano show will be created by members of the North-East Meccano Society, at Beamish Museum, in County Durham.
There will be working models dating from the early 1900s to the present day.
Among the exhibits will be an 8ft long working model of Middlesbrough's Transporter Bridge.
It is also hoped that robots from television's Robot Wars will pay a visit.
A spokesperson for the museum said: "Meccano has an irresistible attraction for people of all ages, and has stood the test of time, unlike other fads in children's toys."
The show will take place next Saturday and Sunday.
Throughout the weekend, Beamish visitors will have the opportunity to admire the models, discuss construction and reminisce with members of the club.
