Rail passengers across the region will be asked to fall silent tomorrow as two-minute silences are observed in memory of the Queen Mother on mainline stations.
GNER's stations at Darlington, Durham, Newcastle and York will fall silent at 11.30am and trains scheduled to depart at that time will leave once the silence is ended.
