A VILLAGE store is planning to help heart attack victims who take ill while shopping.
Peter and Michael Gosnay, who own the Spar shop, in Heighington, is hoping to raise enough cash to buy a defibrillator to help in emergencies.
They are hoping to organise fundraising activities to help raise money to buy the machine which delivers a shock to someone in cardiac arrest, monitors the heart's activity and gives instructions to the user on how to assist the victim.
They also hope people in the village and members of staff will undergo training to use the machine.
It is estimated that 12,000 people each year suffer heart attacks in public places and experts say the introduction of defibrillators will increase the chances of survival for many
