VANDALS caused thousands of pounds worth of damage to a Darlington school.
Police answering calls about youths on the roof of Alderman Leach Primary School, at 6pm on Sunday, found classrooms ransacked.
Windows had been smashed and the youths had tried to set fire to blinds, but found they were fire-resistant.
Items stolen included a cassette player with headphones, a globe, video tapes and stationery.
