RUG-MAKERS have taken centre stage at a rural museum in an exhibition which attracted visitors from across the country.
Dozens of rugs went on display at the Ryedale Folk Museum, in Hutton-le-Hole, near Pickering, recently.
The success of the exhibition, which featured work from local craftspeople and other contributors from across the country, has meant it may be repeated.
Museum access officer Jenny Barnes said: "There is a big revival of interest in this particular craft at the moment and we even had a lady come up from Suffolk just to see this exhibition.
"We had old and new rugs, plain and fancy rugs, rugs created out of necessity and others for decoration."
Six rug-makers from North Yorkshire exhibited their work at the event and helped visitors take part in workshops to learn more about the craft.
