A HOUSING association in the North-East has been praised in an inspection report.

Endeavour Housing in Teesside was given a vote of confidence by the Housing Corporation, the Government agency that supervises the standards of service provided by associations across the country.

The inspection team said Endeavour was a "dynamic organisation" and that its tenants were happy with the quality of service and accommodation. It said the association "sets itself high levels of services, standards and performance targets, which it achieves."

Endeavour has 1,500 properties across the region and about 3,000 tenants.

Charlie Hughes, chief executive of Endeavour, said: "It is encouraging that the inspection team recognised the determination throughout the organisation to seek to do better and use the feedback from our customers to set improvement targets.

"The challenge now is to maintain the momentum for improvement and to keep on looking for ways in which we can deliver better services."
