A DISPLAY of old photographs and memorabilia charting the history of a fire service was launched this week. The collection including items dating back to before the First World War, has been amassed by County Durham and Darlington Fire and Rescue Brigade's first historian and archivist, Craig Godwin, above. Mr Godwin, who has cherished a lifelong interest in the fire service, worked without pay, scouring fire stations across the county for items of interest. The exhibition will run at the brigade's headquarters, at Framwellgate Moor, Durham, until 5pm today.
