THE RAF has warned there will be some extra flight activity over the region later this month as helicopter pilots continue their training.
From Thursday, April 25, to Friday, May 3, Chinook helicopters from RAF Odiham will be operating from Teesside Airport, in order to conduct their operational phase training.
The training will include low level navigation, electronic warfare, fighter evasion and simulated tasking.
They will be making use of the electronic warfare ranges at RAF Spadeadam and will also be conducting training with 5 Regiment Royal Artillery and 8 Regiment Royal Logistics Corps at Marne Barracks, Catterick and 38 Regiment Royal Engineers at Ripon.
The helicopters may also make use of RAF Leeming airfield to refuel.
