THREE quiz teams stepped up their examination revision by going online for a national computer challenge.
The final-year students at Sunnydale School, Shildon, joined more than 1,000 schools across the country in the Letts School Challenge 2002, to answer as many questions as possible in 15 minutes.
In the regional challenge, entered by teams from the North of England and Northern Ireland, Sunnydale teams finished 10th, 15th and 35th.
The highest placed quartet, Michael Gittins, Michelle Dixon, Louise Robinson and Gary Hall, qualified for the UK round but did not make it through to a live final at Cambridge University.
Head of IT Allan Fletcher said: "They still did extremely well as it was the first time they had taken part. I hope we can be involved again next year and do even better."
