ONE of Darlington's thriving office complexes is giving young artists a chance to show their talents.
A-level students from Darlington College of Technology entered the Lingfield Point art and photographic competition earlier this year and now have their work displayed on the walls of Lingfield House.
Working on the theme of structures, the students, who are on fine art and photographic courses, took their inspiration from the buildings of the Lingfield Point complex, in McMullen Road.
A total of 45 entries were submitted and a panel of judges, including Darlington Mayor Councillor Isobel Hartley, local artist Wendy Thompson, and college lecturers Ian Burrell and Adelin Clarke, selected two winners.
They were Emily Hutchinson, 16, who produced an abstract piece based on the complex's layout, and 19-year-old Nat Quinn, whose black and white pictures won the photographic section.
Eddie Humphries, estate manager at Lingfield Point, said: "There are some very interesting buildings at Lingfield Point, in particular Lingfield House.
"We were delighted to se the different interpretations of the complex in their finished artwork and we are delighted to be able to show off the pictures."
