REVISED plans have been submitted to Sedgefield Borough Council for the redevelopment of the Avenue site, in Newton Aycliffe.
The changes do not fundamentally alter the scheme, but address issues raised by the Commission for Architecture and the Built Environment.
The developers and the Sedgefield Borough Council have liaised closely on how the scheme could be amended to respond to commission's criticisms.
The key changes involve improvements to the pedestrian routes around the site, revisions to the landscaping on the boundary of the site, and alterations to the bus routes around the public area.
A two-week period has been set aside for consultations with local residents, businesses and bus operators before borough councillors meet to decide whether to accept the final scheme. It is likely that the decision will be taken at a special meeting in May.
Anyone who wishes to inspect the revised plans can do so at Great Aycliffe Town Council offices and Sedgefield Borough Council offices.
Any comments should be sent to Sedgefield Borough Council, Green Lane, Spennymoor, as soon as possible.
