A TERRITORIAL Army company has adopted Darlington's St Teresa's Hospice as its chosen charity.
The 125 Recy Company, in Newton Aycliffe, is part of the 102 Battalion REME (V).
The company has been a keen supporter of the hospice over the years, and has already raised funds for its work through a variety of events.
Soldiers from the regiment and hospice representatives officially launched the partnership at the Aycliffe Armoury, in Northfield Way, yesterday.
Hospice director Jane Bradshaw said: "It is excellent news that the company is adopting St Teresa's Hospice as one of its local charities and we hope that other organisations in the area will take up their shining example."
Captain Geoff Shotton said: "We look forward to helping support the invaluable work the hospice does in the local community."
