A DALES farm hit by foot-and-mouth disease has won approval for its second venture into the tourist trade.
Ashes Farm, on the edge of Hawes, had already won national park planning chiefs' support for barns at the farm to be converted into stables and a bunkhouse as part of a pony trekking centre scheme.
A bid for a campsite on the farm has also been given the go-ahead by the Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority - once the proposals had been modified to reduce the visual impact it may have had on the landscape.
An access track on to the land will now be laid in green gridding, side-stepping the authority's policies on the construction of new roads.
A washroom will be housed inside an extension to the farmhouse rather than built inside a disused barn on the site.
Traders and the parish council have supported the proposals.
